Technical Sales Executive

Reporting Line: Managing Director, Africa

Team: Business Development/ Sales Team, Country Management Team.

Objectives: The technical sales executive will be responsible for sourcing new clients and business contacts, demonstrate the technical features of our products and services, drive sales, and maintain strong client relations by understanding the needs of the client and providing them with the right solutions.
Responsibilities
  • Close and grow sales through professional communication with existing and potential clients
  • Manage and interpret client requirements – speaking with clients to understand, anticipate and meet their needs
  • Assesses competitors by analyzing and summarizing competitor information and trends; identifying sales opportunities
  • Develops sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts; soliciting new accounts; building rapport; providing technical information and explanations; preparing quotations.
  • Closes new accounts by answering telephone and e-mail inquiries; verifying and entering information.
  • Identify and resolve client concerns; recommending a course of action to alleviate these concerns in the future.
  • Update job knowledge by studying new product descriptions; participating in educational opportunities
  • Work with the QA team to ensure client project requirements are met
  • Maintaining records of client communications and contact information as required
  • Making technical presentations, webinar
  • Preparing responses to RFP (request for proposals) and RFI (request for information)
  • Attending and participating in conferences and other marketing event
  • Maintain awareness of pertinent client information, future plans, payment performance; communicate any client information that may affect company decisions to appropriate departments as needed
  • Researches market requirements and market data
  • Maintains current Company product knowledge.
  • Submit a variety of sales status reports as required, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals
  • Submit quarterly client visit plans; schedule client meetings and action plans for follow-up
  • Send legal documents to clients and send signed copies for filing
  • Responsible for setting the client’s expectations
Person Specification
Knowledge and Technical Requirements
  • HND/ BSc in Sales & Marketing, Business, and related disciplines.
  • 1- 3 years experience in Technical Sales
  • Working knowledge of Sales design tools and price calculations
  • Knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques
  • Exposure to and strong understanding of software development concepts, life-cycle and methodologies
  • Prior experience marketing IT services to the following sectors - banking,   telecoms, healthcare, and insurance is an advantage
  • Willingness to travel locally, regionally and internationally.

  • Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills.

  • Ability to learn, understand and demonstrate technical concepts including IT related products, solutions and provide solution-based selling to clients
  • Ability to write error free proposals
  • Ability to identify technical challenges and inefficiencies
