Training & Project Requirement: This role requires that the individual should have completed a relevant training. A personal or group project is acceptable following this — and even better, prior experience on a live project is considered an added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Implement application business logic based on product requirements.

  • Work with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.

  • Assist with database schema design, queries, migrations, and data validation.

  • Help identify and fix backend bugs.

  • Write clean, reusable, and maintainable code.

  • Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.

  • Write unit and integration tests for backend functionality.

  • Assist with API documentation.

  • Use Git and GitHub for source control and collaboration.

  • Work with frontend developers to integrate APIs.

  • Follow security and data-protection best practices.

Preferred Technical Skills

  • Basic understanding of JavaScript and/or TypeScript.

  • Familiarity with Node.js.

  • Knowledge of backend frameworks such as NestJS, Express.js, or similar technologies.

  • Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases.

  • Familiarity with REST APIs and JSON.

  • Basic understanding of authentication concepts such as JWT, sessions, and role-based access control.

  • Familiarity with Git and GitHub.

  • Understanding of HTTP methods, status codes, and client-server architecture.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with PostgreSQL.

  • Familiarity with Docker.

  • Knowledge of Redis, queues, background jobs, or caching.

  • Experience integrating payment, email, SMS, identity verification, or other external APIs.

  • Basic understanding of cloud deployment.

What We Are Looking For

  • Strong willingness to learn.

  • Good problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to understand technical requirements.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Ability to communicate problems clearly.

  • Comfortable asking questions when requirements are unclear.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with other developers and designers.

General Internship Requirements

Candidates should:

  • Be recent graduates, self-taught professionals, or individuals building early careers in their chosen field.

  • Have basic knowledge of the role they are applying for.

  • Be willing to learn and work on real products.

  • Be able to communicate effectively with team members.

  • Be responsible with assigned tasks and deadlines.

  • Be comfortable receiving constructive feedback.

  • Demonstrate curiosity, initiative, and willingness to improve.

  • Have access to a reliable computer and internet connection where remote work is required.

Previous professional experience is not mandatory. Personal projects, school projects, portfolio projects, open-source contributions, or other demonstrations of practical ability may be considered.

  • Learn professional development and design workflows.

  • Use Git/GitHub, Figma, project-management tools, and modern development technologies.

  • Participate in code/design reviews.

  • Improve their portfolio with practical experience.

  • Learn how products move from requirements and designs to development, testing, and release.

  • Receive mentorship and technical feedback throughout the internship.
