Role Summary
Our Client in the Financial sector is looking for an Architecture & Code Review Lead
Job Type - Contract
Work mode - Hybrid/Remote
Key Responsibilities

Conduct structured architecture and code reviews across the program on a fixed weekly/sprint cadence, with primary focus on the custom middleware integration layer

Evaluate configuration of the licensed digital banking platform against vendor documentation and industry best practice, distinguishing platform-inherent behavior from implementation defects

Review mobile application code (Android and iOS) for structural quality, maintainability, and long-term extensibility
-
Assess all components for technical debt, code quality, and adherence to maintainable design practices, in addition to functional correctness

Administer and maintain static code analysis tooling (e.g., SonarQube, Semgrep, or Checkmarx) as an ongoing quality gate integrated into the development workflow

Identify and formally document integration, reliability, and maintainability risks, with severity ratings and remediation recommendations
-
Escalate release-blocking findings to program leadership in writing, with sufficient lead time for remediation prior to code freeze

Produce review reports and status updates suitable for both technical delivery teams and non-technical program stakeholders
Required Qualifications
Experience
-
Minimum 8 years of professional software engineering or architecture experience
-
Minimum 4 years in a dedicated code review, architecture review, technical assurance, or quality engineering role (not incidental to a development or delivery role)

Demonstrated experience integrating a third-party or licensed software platform with an existing enterprise or banking environment (e.g., core banking, ERP, or comparable systems of record)

Demonstrated experience reviewing or working within microservices, containerized, and event-driven architectures (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker)
-
Demonstrated experience reviewing mobile application codebases (Android and/or iOS)
Technical Skills
-
Static/automated code analysis tooling: SonarQube, Semgrep, Checkmarx, or equivalent, including configuration and governance of quality gates
-
API and middleware integration patterns (REST, SOAP, message queues, event-driven integration)
-
Cloud-native and containerized deployment models (Kubernetes, Docker, microservices)
-
Familiarity with at least one licensed core/digital banking platform (e.g., Finacle, Flexcube, T24, Mambu, Temenos, or equivalent)
Education
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated professional experience
Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in mobile banking, payments, or financial services integration projects

Working knowledge of payment switch and card network integration (e.g., NIBSS, SWIFT, or equivalent national/international payment rails)

Application security awareness sufficient to identify and refer security concerns to a dedicated security review function

Formal certification in software architecture, quality assurance, or a recognized code review/quality methodology

Success Criteria

All three program components (platform configuration, mobile application, middleware) reviewed on the defined weekly/sprint cadence for the duration of the engagement

100% of critical and high-severity findings documented and escalated prior to code freeze (15 October 2026)

Static code analysis tooling operational and integrated into the development workflow within the first two weeks of engagement

Final review sign-off report delivered to program leadership ahead of the 1 November 2026 go-live date
