Job Summary The skilled Senior Backend Engineer (Java) would work in a cross functional team to develop software solutions in the finance and digital lending ecosystem within an Agile framework. The Senior Backend Engineer will report to the Tech Lead developer and be responsible for delivery of assigned tasks.
Responsibilities
Ensure that development work is delivered withing the agreed timeline.
Ensure that software code meets requirements and industry standard.
Work with the Project Team to properly scope requirements for development projects.
Ensure proper timelines are communicated for items in scope.
Work with the UI/UX team to ensure delivery of Design requirements for software tasks. Ensure code and development documentation of all developed software and features.
Ensure the Development Backlog is reviewed at agreed intervals.
Ensure all technical debt is communicated to the Technology Project Manager
Carry out research on development tools, industry trends and best practices in development.
Requirements
7 - 10 years of work experience developing software using HTML, JavaScript (Vue.JS & React), Java frameworks (Spring & Hibernate), Maven Projects, etc.
At least 5 years’ experience using RDBMS databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL or MSSQL and 4 years’ experience using NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Cassandra, Aerospike, etc.
Well versed in creating REST services, and consuming SOAP webservices.
4 years’ experience in delivering a Enterprise grade solutions with a combination of Java Spring Boot framework, Java Hibernate framework and PostgreSQL would be an added advantage.
Proficient in driving the software development life cycle and experience working in an Agile environment with diverse teams (Remote & onsite).
Must be knowledgeable of the Fintech space, especially banking, finance and lending.
Experience with tools such as JIRA, documentation on Confluence and other documentation tools.
Experience working with Design, Product and QA teams.
Ability to produce and interpret design specifications and technical documentation.
