Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Officer to manage the sourcing, purchasing, and vendor relationships for our construction projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction procurement, with a strong ability to negotiate prices, secure favorable terms, and ensure the timely delivery of materials. This role will require effective relationship management, cost optimization, and close collaboration with project managers and site teams.
Key Responsibilities:

Vendor Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with reliable suppliers and vendors.
- Maintain strong, positive relationships with vendors to ensure consistent quality, pricing, and delivery timelines.
- Address vendor concerns or issues to maintain a steady supply chain.

Procurement and Purchasing:
- Coordinate the sourcing and purchasing of construction materials, tools, and equipment needed for each project.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchases that meet quality standards.
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and benchmark prices for materials and services.

Inventory and Cost Control:
- Track inventory levels and ensure adequate supply of materials to avoid project delays.
- Monitor and manage procurement costs to stay within project budgets.
- Implement processes to minimize wastage and control material expenses.

Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure all purchased materials meet quality standards and comply with industry regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, vendor agreements, and delivery schedules.
- Prepare reports on procurement activities, costs, and vendor performance.

Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with project managers, site teams, and finance to align purchasing needs and budgets.
- Communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams to streamline the procurement process.
- Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials to project sites.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of procurement experience in the construction industry.
- Strong negotiation, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Understanding of construction materials, market trends, and supply chain management.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with construction project management principles.
- Professional certifications in procurement or supply chain management are a plus.
